The first type of curio we will discuss is the traditional curio cabinet. This is the type of cabinet most people envision. The majority of these cabinets is tall, has straight edges, and usually has a mirrored back and built in lighting. With that said, these cabinets can come in a variety of sizes and shapes, can be made from different types of wood, and can be any color you can imagine. On the other hand, if space is an issue, you can use a wall curio cabinet. This type of cabinets is much smaller and more cost effective. Since they are smaller, you are much more limited with the type of items you can display. The key characteristic of this type of curio cabinet is the fact that it is mounted to the wall.
The last type of curio is a corner curio cabinet. These cabinets are phenomenal if you have a bare corner or limited space. As you can imagine, these types of curios will usually be found in a corner. In order to fit in the corner, they are usually constructed with three sides.
As you can see, there are three primary types of curio cabinets. Which one will best fit your situation will be determined by the amount of room you have available, where you want to situate the cabinet, and how big of a budget you have.
